Jeannette Godoy is a first generation, Mexican American director and writer. She started her career as a choreographer where she worked in film, television and commercials. She is most widely known for having choreographed the pop culture hit music video, Baby Got Back, by Sir Mix A Lot. She also choreographed the film, CB4, starring Chris Rock as well as the Tejano Music Awards starring Selena.

 

She just finished her first feature film, Diamond in The Rough, a Latina led, romantic comedy produced by Creator+. The movie is slated for a summer 2022 release and stars Samantha Boscarino, influencer Griffin Johnson, David Koechner and Rizwan Manjin.

 

Jeannette also directed an episode of The Garcias for HBO Max. The family comedy was shot on location in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico and features a predominately Latinx cast. 

 

In 2020, Jeannette created and directed a short series for Bumble. Pure Corazón follows 3 Latinx daters from different cultural backgrounds as they courageously navigate dating, life, and identity. This semi scripted series has had over 1 million views since it’s debut. 

 

She also directed the cold open for the HBO Max Ha Comedy Festival. Starring Latino legend, Danny Trejo, and rising Latinx actress, Isabella Alvarez, the comedic piece, opened the successful festival.

  

Jeannette is a 2018/2019 Fellow of the Sony Pictures TV Diverse Directors Program as well as the Black Magic Collective’s Breakthrough Initiative.
